Pitching Your Client to Morning Broadcast Programs

As expected, the 33 rescued Chilean miners are attracting tons of attention (and cash) from broadcast outlets wanting to talk about their ordeal. TVNewser reports on the licensing fees paid by ABC and NBC for footage of three of the miners – “Super” Mario Sepulveda, Carlos Barrios, and Victor Zamora. Obviously, the media plan is being put to good use.

Unfortunately for publicists and their clients, not all stories attract this kind of attention. Join us tomorrow for a live webcast, “Pitching Your Client to Morning TV Shows,” with guest speaker Lisa Zlotnick from M Booth & Associates.

Online video company The NewsMarket, which acquired PR-video services company Medialink in September 2009, has announced a re-branding of the combined companies to Synaptic Digital.

“It’s really about a complete solution, helping our clients make the biggest impact across platforms,” said Jim Lonergan, president and CEO of the combined company.

We would share the the company’s launch video with you here at PRNewser, but it is non-embeddable. [UPDATE: The video is now embeddable. We've posted it after the jump.] The remains as the company’s digital distribution platform.

PRNewser has reported on some personnel changes at the new company recently, including Lisa Zlotnick, formerly Senior Director of Media Relations, who left in February to join joined M. Booth & Associates as Broadcast Director.

In addition to Zlotnick, Medialink SVP Adam Dictrow also recently left the company to take on a role as Divisional Vice President at competitor MultiVu, a PR Newswire Company.

While PR provided video for broadcast use has greatly declined, there is certainly a market for online video, something Synaptic Digital will try to capitalize on.
