Ed Adler Jumps to RLM Finsbury

Ed Adler is now a partner at RLM Finsbury, the newly-formed firm resulting from the merger of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery and U.K. financial firm Finsbury. The firm specializes in corporate, financial, and crisis comms.

Adler was most recently senior partner at MediaLink, working in the strategic communications practice. Prior to that, he was the EVP of corp comms for Time Warner.

When he announced his new job at MediaLink in September 2010, he wrote a letter that read, in part: “MediaLink was one of the first advisory firms to recognize the complexity of the changing digital world and by doing so, has earned a great deal of respect by those in our business and within their constituencies… I look forward to continuing that trend, working on those issues and others as I join MediaLink.”

Joining him from MediaLink is Kyle Giunta, previously an account director in the strategic comms practice.

The Marine Stewardship Council has chosen Dentsu Communications after a competitive search. The MSC maintains a labeling system for seafood and eco-friendly fishing. That system was introduced in 1999. Dentsu will plan and execute an educational program that will teach the public about ways to make sustainable seafood a part of their lifestyle.

Burger King has chosen Coyne PR as its AOR after a competitive search. It was announced in July that the fast food company had split with previous AOR, Edelman. Work will focus on corporate and executive communications and comms surrounding nutrition, Ad Age reports. The magazine also says that Burger King has cut back on its PR spend.

Audit, tax, and business advisory firm J.H. Cohn has selected Goodman Media International as its AOR. Goodman will build the reputation of Cohn’s accounting and auditing practice, the business investigation services team, and the Cohn Consulting Group. And it will position Cohn’s executives as experts on global market issues.

Wise PR has added four clients to its roster: Altitude Digital Partners, an advertising company for online publishers; FonGenie, a cloud-based business phone solutions company; Kiip, a mobile in-game advertising startup founded by teenage Brian Wong (!!); and Image Space Media, and advertising company that pairs brands with relevant images and video. Synaptic Digital Launches MediaCentre

Synaptic Digital has launched MediaCentre, a digital content aggregator that allows users to bring together press releases, videos, social media site updates, and other information through a single site. According to a press release quote from CEO Jim Lonergan, MediaCentre is the first product launch since The NewsMarket and Medialink merged last year. Features include the “Social Mash-up Panel,” which aggregates social media sites, and the “All Media Panel” that stores video, image, and audio files.

Medialink Shareholders Approve Merger With The NewsMarket

Shareholders of PR video company Medialink (NASDAQ: MDLK) today approved the company’s merger with The Newsmarket. While Medialink continues to use the word “merger” in its releases, The NewsMarket has positioned the deal as an acquisition. News of the deal was first announced on July 2nd, 2009.

In a NewsMarket release from July, the company stated, “For the 12 month period ending March 31, 2009, Medialink recorded revenues of $17.95 million.” The NewsMarket bought shares at $.20, which represented a 100% premium of the from the last trading price of Medialink’s common stock on May 27, 2009.” Ergo Medialink stock last traded at $.10 per share.

Final paperwork is expected to be completed “no later than September 28, 2009,” said Medialink in a release.
