Kelly Cutrone Shutters L.A. Office

Kelly CutroneToday brings news that Kelly Cutrone, fashion/reality TV PR Star, author and America’s Next Top Model judge, has closed the Los Angeles office of her firm People’s Revolution, which the general public got to know via long-running dramatic masterpiece The Hills. The firm’s New York offices are, of course, still going strong.

Cutrone’s note to her press contacts (which sadly do not include us):

“In 1996 I opened People’s Revolution in Los Angeles, California. Over the last 18 years People’s has had quite a run! LA was our birthplace. With all of the changes in technology and our main focus in New York, I have decided not to renew our lease on 7005 Melrose. We are very interested in renting a house with a swimming pool as a possible option going forward so please do let us know if you know of anything.”

This news also recalls the heady days of 2010, when Bravo and MTV seemed determined to create a reality show centered around a PR firm. They did not succeed, though we do now have at least one PR sitcom to look forward to (or not).

Click through for a Throwback Thursday clip in which Cutrone tells our own co-founder Joe Ciarallo about how those who want to do fashion PR “have to be willing to pay their dues.

Kelly Cutrone Launches Production Company

The New York Observer reports that People’s Revolution founder Kelly Cutrone has launched a production company called POW, or Power of the Word. You’ll recall that she just recently announced a clothing line, has a new book, and has been a regular on Dr. Phil. We wonder when she has time to sleep.

The new company has produced a pilot, with Cutrone as executive producer, named after her the aforementioned book Normal Gets You Nowhere. The description – “part Great Santini, part dream maker” — kind of matches the one she gave in late 2010 for a show she had in the works. The pilot, she says, is getting the once-over by MTV.

Kelly Cutrone Is Showing You Some Electric Love

Kelly Cutrone is teaming with Robyn Berkley, a partner at her firm People’s Revolution and a star of her old Bravo program Kell on Earth, for a new sportswear line called The Electric Love Army. Cutrone says the line will be “affordable and fun,” according to WWD with an appeal to the 15-to-32 female age bracket. “Brainy and sexy” is also what the story says.

“You know that scene in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ where Phoebe Cates climbs out of the swimming pool and pops her bikini ? That’s our girl,” quoth Cutrone. Sassssy!

Kelly Cutrone On List of 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers

cutrone2.jpg US Magazine has posted its list of “25 Most Stylish New Yorkers” for 2010 and alongside Swizz Beats and Rachael Ray is fashion PR guru/reality star Kelly Cutrone. The key to Cutrone’s style: wearing lots of black. Angelina Jolie tops Cutrone’s list of most stylish because of their shared love of the color.

“She’s part of the Goth club. I see the kids walking around with her and she’s a total punk goddess,” she told US.

The People’s Revolution founder looked snazzy in her all-black outfit during her MediaBeat interview with PRNewser’s Joe Ciarallo back in February, the most viewed in mediabistro.com history. Check it out if you haven’t already.
