Spin the Agencies of Record

Tourism Australia has selected Ketchum for PR across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America after a competitive search. The win was effective last Friday and will last for the next three years with the possibility of extending another year. Ketchum’s Los Angeles office will lead the account. According to the release, Fleishman-Hillard was the previous firm. Its contract ended in June.

Miami-based Grupo bt USA was selected by The Bahamas Tourist Office for marcomms work to drive at least 50 percent growth in Latin American visitors to the islands. The campaign slogan is “Bahamas, No lo has visto todo.”

Spin the Agencies of Record: Evian Chooses Syndicate Media Group, and More

Evian has chosen Syndicate Media Group as its U.S. AOR handling public relations and social media work. According to the press release, the RFP included three other firms who were asked how they would have operated given a set of real Evian initiatives. Or, they were asked to propose new campaigns. Syndicate chose the latter. The firm will be working with the other Evian agencies – MKG, MPG/Mediacontacts, and Euro RSCG — and work will begin in the fourth quarter.

The Girl Scouts have chosen Edelman to lead its centennial PR efforts in 2012. The firm’s work will include media relations, consumer engagement, social media and issues management surrounding topics of importance to girls. The online initiatives will have a shelf life through 2013. CRT/tanaka will continue as AOR for the Girl Scouts providing crisis counsel and helping with centennial efforts.

Virgin Atlantic Chooses Susan Magrino Agency as AOR

Virgin Atlantic Airways has chosen Susan Magrino Agency as U.S. AOR after a competitive review. The agency will handle all consumer outreach in U.S. “gateway markets,” which include New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, and Washington D.C.

This is the first time that Susan Magrino has worked with the airline company, which was founded by Sir Richard Branson in 1984. This is also the first U.S. AOR for Virgin Atlantic.

Frontier Airlines has chosen MWW Group as its AOR after a competitive review. The firm will raise awareness for the airline in its three hubs – Denver International Airport, General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, and Kansas City International Airport — and destinations and work on campaigns and social media initiatives.

K Public Relations has been chosen to work on the Infusium 23 line of hair care brands. The firm’s work will include comms around product launches and the company’s “three-step system.” [via Digital Journal]

Susan Magrino Agency has two new clients. The firm has been selected by the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Hotel, which is reopening this fall and the agency has added Smashburger to its roster. The “better burger” chain is opening 85 restaurants this year. The firm will be working with its first Brooklyn restaurant, opening next month.

Hanna Lee Communications has been selected to promote the first-ever Wines of Croatia tasting in New York this summer. More than 30 wine producers will be at the event.

LivingSocial has chosen Fleishman-Hillard as its U.S. AOR after a review, PRWeek reports. Work began on April 1. Atomic PR was working with social e-commerce site from July 2008 until recently.

Nancy J. Friedman PR has three new clients. It will handle all the PR surrounding the opening of the Z Hotel in Long Island City, New York. The Body Holiday/Le Sport and Rendezvous properties in St. Lucia have also selected NJFPR for their relaunch. The firm had worked with the island of St. Lucia for a decade. And finally, the firm has been chosen as the U.S. AOR for The Charles Hotel in Boston.

ClickN KIDS, a children’s software company, has chosen Atomic PR as its AOR. The firm will help launch new products, and promote the benefits of ClickN KIDS software, which focus on improving literacy. The account will be handled about of Atomic’s L.A. office.

M Booth has added Montage Deer Valley, a mountain resort that’s part of the Montage Hotels & Resorts list of locations, to its roster. M Booth already represents Montage Laguna Beach and Montage Beverly Hills. The firm will raise brand awareness through media relations, tying their work to revenue.

Spa and wellness company exhale has chosen 72andSunny to lead the PR effort for all 18 exhale locations. Kerry Fitzmaurice, director of PR for the firm, will lead the account.

CouponMob has chosen PReturn for media relations, messaging, media training, content creation, and thought leadership services. Efforts will target both merchants and consumers.

Datapipe has selected Peppercom as its AOR. The tech management and service provider previously worked with Peppercom in 2002. Now, the Peppercom program will include media relations, social media initiatives, digital marketing, services in the U.K., and a new website via H2O Associates, a Peppercom division.

The Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld has chosen Kreps DeMaria Public Relations and Marketing for PR services. The firm works with a number of hospitality clients including the JW Marriott Hotel Miami and the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa.

LFPR has been selected as the AOR for Sage North America, the U.S. and Canadian arm of the international business management software  and service supplier. The firm will handle traditional, online, and Hispanic media relations for a number of business units.

Miz Mooz, a footwear brand, has chosen Workhouse as its AOR. The firm will work on promotional campaigns tied to the company’s collections and special events, as well as other domestic PR.

Susan Magrino Agency has been named AOR for Saint Louis Crystal, a French maker of crystal vases and other products that was founded in 1586. The firm was also named AOR for Puiforcat, a French art deco silver design company. Both companies are owned by Hermès.

Alpha Industries, a fashion company specializing in military-inspired design, has selected Turner PR as its AOR. Alpha has also outfitted the U.S. Defense Department since 1959. Turner will launch the company’s national PR campaign.

D.C. fresh food chain sweetgreen has chosen Cornerstone as its AOR as it branches into new markets. The firm will also work with the brand’s arts and music event, sweetlife Festival.

French/West/Vaughn is now AOR for Financial Insurance Management Corporation (FIMC), which provides membership-based benefits programs for credit unions and other groups.

The Horn Group has added three online businesses to its consumer tech roster: Answers.com, BuyWithMe, and YD Online.

Eataly, the New York City Italian food marketplace, has selected Susan Magrino Agency to promote in-store events. Eataly founders include Mario Batali (above) and Joe Bastianich.

The Denver Urban Renewal Authority has chosen Cohn Marketing as its AOR to work on (among other things) strategic planning, special events, and ongoing PR.
