Spin the Agencies of Record

MacKenzie Agency Public Relations has added two clients to its roster: Modena Fine Foods and ACME Wine Movers. The firm will work on trade and consumer media relations, tasting events, and other elements of a national PR campaign.

Taylor has been selected for PR work for Nike’s Jordan brand of shoes and apparel after a competitive search. PMK-BNC worked on the account for a decade. [via]

Li-Ning, a Chinese sports brand, has hired Fleishman-Hillard for corporate, brand, and digital outreach, as well as PR surrounding the 2012 London Olympics. The company is looking to go global, one of a handful of Chinese consumer brands with an international goal. [via]

Project SUCCESS, a Minneapolis-based youth organization, has chosen Haberman for outreach, messaging, marketing materials, and other PR duties. The organization has been around for 20 years.

P&G Launches A Campaign for the London Olympics With an Ode to Mom

This tear-jerker is part of Proctor & Gamble’s “Thank you, Mom by P&G” push for the 2012 London Olympics. Launching 100 days before the Games, the clip, called “Best Job,” is available on a Facebook page dedicated entirely to the campaign. In addition to the video, there’s a scrolling page containing “Thank you, Mom” messages from visitors, an app, and a website dedicated to the campaign. The company is also raising $5 million for youth sports groups around the world and is donating more than $50,000 to KidSport Canada.

Spin the Agencies of Record

Gibbs & Soell has added three new home and building clients to its roster: Hafele America, a hardware and service provider; HomeServe USA, an emergency home repair company; and Rexel, an electrical supply distributor. The new clients will be handled by the consumer lifestyle and building solutions practice.

PAN Communications has been selected as AOR for three companies in the healthcare space: Pri-Med, a medical education company; Arcadia Solutions, a healthcare consulting firm; and Capsule Tech, a company providing medical device connectivity to hospitals. [via]

Nestlé has chosen Taylor as AOR for the Skinny Cow brand of ice cream. The selection was made after a competitive search that didn’t include the incumbent, Ketchum. [via PRWeek]

A Few Things Happened Over the Past Couple of Days at IWNY

Internet Week New York keeps on keepin’ on with tons more activity happening all around town. We’ve struggled to keep up with it all since the opening day (and a couple of people we spoke to said the same), but here are a few of the many things worth noting.

Above, a couple of Kardashians made an appearance at the Yahoo exhibit for a guest spot on “The Thread,” where they talked about how important social media is to them and their many businesses.

The Kardashians, particularly sister Kim, can be called online “influencers.” Yesterday, PR firm Taylor hosted a panel discussion called “Influence 3.0″ and attempted to dig into the makings of an online influential.

Roll Call: Taylor, IABC, MSLGroup, and More

Katina Scott has been appointed VP, brand planning director of  the marcomms and branding firm Taylor. Scott will work with P&G, Novartis, and she’ll work with fellow VP, brand planning director Michelle Leo on brand planning across Taylor’s offices. Scott has previously worked with a number of companies including Euro RSCG and Kaplan Thaler Group.

Julie Freeman is stepping down as president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) after a decade filling the role. The organization is searching for a replacement and aims to have a selection by year’s end. [via Ragan.com]

MSLGroup‘s Boston office has a new MD. Meghan Gross has been charged with building the firm’s business in the New England region. She was previously the director of comms for the law firm Foley Hoag LLP. She replaces Ed Cafasso. [via PRWeek]

Taylor Hires Three Directors

Taylor has added three executives to its Brand Counsel Group.

Jackson Jeyanayagam joins as director of digital strategy, responsible for leading the digital strategy team and digital professional development throughout the agency. Previously, he was with Waggener Edstrom and worked with the firm’s Microsoft and T-Mobile clients.

Eleanore Wells joins as group brand planning director. She will work with key clients including Allstate Insurance, Diageo, and Mars. Previously, she was SVP, group planning director for DraftFCB.

Michelle Leo joins Taylor as a brand planning director working with P&G and Diageo. Prior to this position, she was with Saatchi & Saatchi New York. She has worked with brands including Aveeno and Toyota.
