Kraft is Bringing You the “Golden Voice” of Love

Happy V-Day folks. Are you feeling the love? Maybe the smooth sounds of Ted “Golden Voice” Williams talking about some mac & cheese will make your day a little brighter?

In 2011, Williams became a sensation when he was discovered by a Columbus Dispatch reporter. From that day forward, for both Williams and Kraft, it was a “lemons to lemonade” story.

Today, Kraft is sharing that “golden voice” with all of us. Tweet him a message with the hashtag #voiceoflove and Williams will record the message. Kraft is also making a Mac & Cheese donation to Feeding America for each tweet received, up to 100,000 boxes.

‘Golden Voice’ is Viral Gold for Kraft

Ted Williams, the “golden voice” that shot to superstardom thanks to a YouTube video shot by a Columbus Dispatch reporter, is not only riding a (turbulent) wave of celebrity. He’s also bringing viral mojo to Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

It was announced just last week that Williams would be the spokes-voice for the latest Kraft Macaroni & Cheese ad. Within seconds it seemed, the ad was made, and in minutes it picked up 901,000 views, according to YouTube Trends. The total number of views for the entire MacNCheese channel was 1.39 million as of yesterday afternoon.

Sadly, Williams is now publicly coping with some serious personal problems, illustrated by a post on Jezebel. We hope he ultimately fares as well as the video has.

As this week’s news about Ted Williams will attest to, YouTube videos are a powerful way to reach audiences. GalleyCat editor Jason Boog and TVNewer co-editor Alex Weprin spoke with YouTube Trends manager (and former TVNewser) Kevin Allocca about the site and how to strike YouTube success.

Ted Williams, the “golden-voiced” YouTube star who was homeless in Ohio just a few short days ago, is now the spokes-voice for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Ad Age reports.

“His amazing voice is perfectly suited to our campaign,” Kraft spokesperson Lynne Galia told the publication. “We were in the middle of making our TV spots and in a unique position to help Ted use his great voice to gain employment.”

Williams has also been offered a job with the basketball team, the Cleveland Cavaliers and doing the voice overs for MSNBC’s “Lean Forward” campaign.
