Forbes’ List of Most Trustworthy Celebs Is a Bit Of a Head Scratcher

capt phillips robin robertsWhile you were off being in love and shoveling snow, Forbes released its list of most trustworthy celebrities. And it is a hodgepodge indeed.

On top is Tom Hanks, which completely makes sense. For a person who makes a living pretending to be other people, there is something undeniably genuine about him. No matter the role, you can connect to him. There is a human-ness that just won’t quit. The only other person on this list that makes as much sense is Robin Roberts, the most trusted woman in media and your imaginary brunch buddy.

But then you also have Carol Burnett, who’s wonderful, but not really someone you hear from too often. And, pretty safe bet, she’s not very recognizable to many young people. Can you trust someone you don’t see too often?

Forrest Gump Drops the F-Bomb on Live TV

Well, this just made our day. While demonstrating the finer details of making funny voices to the audience at home, Mr. Gump just happened to let a little f-bomb slip through. Authentic! We love Vargas’s attempts to contain her laughter:

You think Hanks would have had this much fun with Samantha Guthrie? Check and mate, NBC!

Matt Lauer and Tom Hanks talking 'Larry Crowne' and Univision on the 'Today' show.

As widely reported and seen virally last week, Tom Hanks made an appearance on Univision’s morning program Despierta América while promoting his new film Larry Crowne.

Hanks’ promo tour has continued since, and now he’s also promoting his stop on Univision as well as the movie. In a recent appearance on both The Late Show with David Letterman and the Today show, he’s asked about doing a samba and the weather.

“I think the press junket is getting damn good reviews,” Hanks told Matt Lauer.

Tom Hanks Promotes His New Film En Español

Tom Hanks was up early yesterday to promote his new film Larry Crowne on the Spanish-language morning show Despierta América. While he was there, he shook a tail feather while doing the weather and helped out with a cooking segment.

The appearance is getting major play around the Internet and is definitely a departure from the usual talk show couch visits that celebs make. Larry Crowne, which also stars Julia Roberts, opens July 1.

Hollywood’s relationship with the military has needed counseling for quite some time. But it took Michelle Obama‘s call for support with the White House’s Joining Forces initiative to get either side to make the first move.

On Monday morning, they showed up in droves.

On a panel moderated by J.J. Abrams — whose own depiction of the military in Super 8 was criticized in the New York Times Media Decoder blog this week – the First Lady urged nearly 500 writers, directors, and producers to help “promote a better understanding and appreciation of the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families” by integrating their experiences into TV, movie, and digital-media story lines.
