The White House Joins Foursquare

The White House is now on Foursquare, keeping followers up-to-date on where President Obama has gone and what he did while he was there. Followers can also check in to things like town hall events with the President. Constitutional question: Can Obama be both a mayor and the President? (I’m sure we’ll be the only ones to come up with that one.)

The White House is heavy into social media, and even has a LinkedIn page we didn’t know about. A Foursquare page does seem superfluous given the way that the media tracks just about every move the President makes. But this administration has made a point of being as digitally savvy as possible, so we’ll see how this adds to their existing social media program. They’re open to feedback, which you can submit here.
