In somber news, this afternoon Tracy Morgan’s publicist confirmed that the actor has left the hospital after nearly two weeks in recovery for what will almost certainly be a prolonged stay in a rehab facility.
Lewis Kay, COO/EVP of Entertainment at PMK*BNC, released this statement to the press:
“While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him.”
The crash that put Morgan in the hospital involved a trucker who fell asleep at the wheel and subsequently pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide. Morgan’s nose, leg and several ribs were broken, and fellow comedian James McNair was killed.
Doctors upgraded Morgan’s condition from critical to fair earlier this week.
