Weber Shandwick Launches ‘Hiring Campaign,’ Adds New Clients

Weber Shandwick has announced a number of developments in its Seattle office, including a “hiring campaign” and six new clients.

The firm has added a new SVP, Bee Wuethrich, who will lead the Social Impact practice in Seattle. The practice drives advocacy programs for philanthropic organizations. Michelle Maggs was promoted to SVP, management supervisor reporting to Tim Fry, who has also been promoted to GM of the Seattle office.

Fry couldn’t give a specific number of  open positions the firm is looking to fill , but wrote in an e-mail to PRNewser, “I can tell you we’ll be significantly larger at the end of 2010 than we were at the end of 2009.”

PRNewser also asked why all of these changes are happening in the Seattle area.

“There is rapid growth in organizations related to social innovation in Seattle – from global health to innovative technology that leverages trends in social media,” Fry wrote. “We have made investments in this area, which is simultaneously attracting new clients and new talent.”

Over the past two months, the firm has added the Consortium of Universities for Global Health; Meridian Institute’s Initiative on Food and Agriculture Policy; Mashable’s Social Good Summit at United Nations Week; the Canadian Tourism Commission; Intersect.com; and, as previously reported, Motorola Mobility, to its client roster.
