Women 2.0, a group with a mission to increase the number of women in the tech startup space, has chosen Makovsky + Company to help build the organization’s brand outside of Silicon Valley where it is best known.
Besides building awareness for Women 2.0, the firm will work to raise awareness of Founder Labs. Beginning Saturday, Founder Labs NYC will launch a five-week program to help entrepreneurs learn the skills they’ll need to make their new mobile tech startups a reality. The organization also provides opportunities for networking, which Makovsky EVP Matt Wolfrom says were in short supply for women when Women 2.0 was founded.
According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, only 11 percent of corporate officer positions at Fortune 500 companies are held by women.
