Social Ad Summit 2008
Social Ad Summit 2008 was extremely successful. For the first time we brought together brands, advertisers, social platforms, and ad networks, to discuss the future of advertising on the social web. With over 225 attendees and over 35 speakers, we were extremely proud of the turnout. Unfortunately the event happened to take place on the same day that Lehman Brothers filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and everybody began to wonder what the future would hold for the financial markets.
Regardless of what was taking place nearby on Wall Street, we managed to make it through the day. Last year’s event was about the dynamic taking place between brand managers and the companies built on top of the social platforms (including the platforms themselves). One year later, that conversation still is taking place but the platforms have evolved and we are beginning to see strong trends.
