On Wednesday, May 8th, forty-four media folks gathered
at Barrio in the Lower East Side for our first Dinner & Dis(course) in New York.
Over seared salmon and mushroom spring rolls, guests from publications including
the Wall Street Journal, Time Out New York, Forbes and
the New York Times debated the newspaper recession--is it a legitimate
economic crisis, or just an excuse to lay off well-paid senior staffers? While
no final consensus emerged, conversation was lively. Based on the enthusiastic
response to this inaugural dinner, we'll be hosting these events regularly.
