Each month 14 million viewers tune into This Old House brands on TV. This Old House and Ask This Old House, distributed by PBS, are the most-watched home improvement programs on television. This Old House Classics is distributed by Warner Brothers in syndication, and is available for viewing in 99% of US TV households.

The job:

This position will lead syndication and public television research to shape, define and inform a ratings strategy for This Old House to differentiate our award-winning brand in the marketplace. Working as a member of our vibrant, small team in Concord, MA, the director will report to the General Manager, TV Operations & Publisher.

This individual will be a key player in managing a partnership with PBS to deliver on our ratings strategy. They will be responsible for managing television ratings and carriage data for PBS and syndicated programming, creating broadcast feed schedules, and provide key assists on sponsorship agreements for compliance.

You are:

1. Proven: This isn’t your first TV research role. You eat, sleep and breathe Nielsen, Trac Media and MRI data, and are able to anticipate trends from ratings reports, opinion research, and consumer research to inform big picture strategy. You come from an advertising agency, television or research environment. You understand PBS guidelines and have extensive experience measuring national and local ratings.

2. A Leader : You know how to present information to sell successfully. You’ve negotiated agreements and can successfully present complex trend information in a way that’s simple, digestible, and clear.

3. A connector of dots: You understand the granular details of research information and can build an effective Excel report. You can also take those small details and forecast trends to inform big picture strategy.
