2014 TVNewser Bracket Challenge: Who’s Leading Now?

NCAA march madnessHalfway through the Sweet 16, we wanted to update you on the leaderboard for TVNewser’s 2014 March Madness bracket challenge.

With four more games tonight, standings atop our rankings are tight. CNN meteorologist Chad Myers is hanging on to a one-point lead over Fox News’s senior copy editor Martin Hill.

“I feel like the smartest guy in the room…but the weather office is a very small room,” Myers tells TVNewser about his current place atop the leaderboard.

Rounding out the top five are CNBC Public Relations SVP Brian Steel, ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez, and PBS program executive Ty West, with only four points currently separating the top five competitors.

And how the TV-news mighty have fallen: last year’s champion, CBS News VP and “CBS This Morning” EP Chris Licht, finds himself in a three-way tie for 28th place. Don’t worry Chris—your humble TVNewser editor is not faring much better, currently in a five-way tie for 31st place.

Look out for the full standings heading into the “Elite 8″ tomorrow.
