As many as 5,000 people packed Rockefeller Plaza tonight, which for the last few days has been dubbed Election Plaza. There were many firsts in this building tonight. Brian Williams‘ first turn as anchor of a general election, the first general election for the combined NBC/MSNBC newsgathering operation, and the first presidential election in 20 years that Tim Russert has not played an integral role in NBC’s coverage.
