A Look at Newspapers: The Present and the Future

mmm_2-3.gifToday on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu we’re joined by Dave Levinthal, reporter for The Dallas Morning News.

Levinthal talk about the changing newspaper industry, and how it has impacted him and the mood of the newsroom. Also we talk about Levinthal’s City Hall blog at DallasNews.com. And from the newsfeed: we’ll talk about the Pulitzer Prize winners and the Senate newspaper hearing coming later this week.

“As soon as we had a presence on the Web, as soon as we found a home for all these news nuggets and a place for breaking news…people began to get really engaged with it,” says Levinthal of the one-year-old blog. “We knew there’s something to this here, this can work, and we just have to do the reporting.”

Also, sadly, this will be Glynnis MacNicol‘s final podcast, as she moves on to her new gig at Abrams Research.

You can listen to all the past podcasts at BlogTalkRadio.com/mediabistro and call in at 646-929-0321. One note: we’re live all this week an hour later than usual, at 10amET.
