On DaySide’s farewell broadcast, the new 1pm host, Martha MacCallum, previewed her new program, called The Live Desk. She said:

“It’s going to start up in control four, which is a great place to be when you want to be all around the breaking news.

You’re going to see things actually live coming into the control room as we see them. And you’re going to see how the show gets put together, how we select where we’re going to pull things from… what our priorities are and where our reporters are all over the world. So that’s going to be a really great way to get started on Monday.

And then we go downstairs to the studio that you guys are in right now, to the Live Desk, which is going to be a great destination for people who want to talk and really get into the heart of the matter in great panel discussions and talk… It’s going to be an extremely wide ranging bunch of issues we’re going to cover, including some fun stuff as well.”
