“Doug Vogt has worked from ABC News for over 15 years. He has traveled all over the world covering major events in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Earlier this month he was with Bob Woodruff in Iran.

Woodruff, Vogt and the rest of their team began this current assignment in Jerusalem on January 24th covering the Palestinian elections. They traveled to Baghdad on January 27.

Vogt, 46, was born in Alberta, Canada. He resides in Aix-en-Provence, France with his wife Vivian and their three daughters.”

> Update: 9:56am: Vogt “was sitting next to ABC News producer David Kaplan when the producer was shot and killed in Bosnia, and has considerable experience documenting war,” ABCNews.com says. Also, “he was recently in another convoy in which someone was killed by an IED.”
