ABC News Now has transformed into a “multimedia news initiative that includes 24-hour news channel ABC News Now, and video on demand reports from all ABC News broadcasts,” the network <a href="announced today. The press release calls the “all digital suite of news content” “unprecedented.”

The service is both linear and nonlinear: “We come to our audience, rather than making our audience come to us,” David Westin said at today’s announcement in S.F.

Westin called it “news on their own terms.” He said ABC News must expand its distribution networks. He said the ABC News Now concept is his most important contribution to the future of the network.
