ABC Regrets Not Taking Bush News Conference

ABC News chose not to take President Bush’s news conference this morning, a decision ABC News spokesperson Jeffrey Schneider says the network regrets. Schneider tells TVNewser the network learned around 9:00amET that the president would be having a news conference, but the guidance was that it would be a “six minute statement followed by a question or two.” As it turns out, the president spent about 35 minutes with the press corps. “We regret not taking it…if we could go back an hour we would have done it differently,” says Schneider. ABC’s digital channel, ABC News Now, did take the news conference.
