ABC Spends $7,000 on Charter for Diane Sawyer, George Stephanopoulos, Producers
From Sunday’s Page Six, an item about Diane Sawyer, George Stephanopoulos and five ABC News producers flying via private jet back to New York after last week’s State of the Union.
Says ABC News spokesperson Jeffrey Schneider, “Diane was in DC on Monday to interview the president and flew commercial each way. For the State of the Union, Diane and George each flew the shuttle to DC.”
Because there were no commercial flights available after the speech, and a snowstorm heading for DC, ABC executives spent $7,000 on a private charter.
“It was absolutely the right call,” Schneider tells P6.
Meanwhile, in today’s Page Six, an NBC News correspondent gets a shout-out.
