"Doug, his wife Vivian and their three beautiful daughters dropped by for a visit this afternoon. They're in the States for a medical check up or two and to visit with friends and colleagues. I'm delighted to report that Doug is looking and feeling great. He has made amazing progress and is eager to get back into a regular routine.

Both Doug and Vivian reiterated their appreciation for all the thoughts, prayers, and support they have received from so many people these last three months, as well as their great admiration for the medical treatment that Doug has received from the military. It was wonderful to see Doug reunited with so many of those who have worked with him all around the world over the years. Today was a very good day for all of us at ABC News."
