ABC's Nightline outperformed both NBC's Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman in the Nielsen overnight metered markets last night. Nightline had a 3.7 HH rating, while Leno had a 3.1 and Letterman had a 2.7.

In younger viewers (A25-54) Nightline had a 1.8 to Leno's 1.4 and Letterman's 1.2.

Nightline's Cynthia McFadden interviewed American Idol judge Paula Abdul while Jay Leno canceled his taping yesterday after he checked himself into the hospital.
