October’s Washingtonian dishes on the hobbies of D.C.-based journalists, including three TV people:

B Plante.jpg • CBS’ Bill Plante loves wine, a hobby that developed when Plante was in college, and realized he didn’t like drinking beer. He now has a personal wine collection of more than 1,500 bottles. “I love good, mature Bordeaux more than anything else,” he tells the magazine.

• CNN’s John Roberts likes to ride motorcycles. It’s a hobby that started when, as a kid, Roberts tried making one, the magazine says, “by attaching a lawn-mower engine to his bicycle. It worked.”

• FNC’s James Rosen has almost 2,000 Beatles CD’s. “The day when there are no Beatles left alive is an unbreathable nuclear winter to me.” His love for the Fab Four is so great, he and his wife named their new baby Aaron Lennon Rosen.
