Al Roker, Producer

roker_3-20.jpgThe New York Daily News’ Richard Huff writes about the heavy slate of projects forthcoming from the Today show’s Al Roker. Al Roker Entertainment has, “upward of 20 shows in various stages of development,” with two projects set to bow in the next couple weeks.

A Food Network show, “Heavyweights,” focusing on food companies debut in the coming weeks, while on April 2, Roker’s Spike TV show, “DEA,” premieres. The show will follow DEA agents in a format similar to COPS.

“I haven’t done a show I’m not proud of. I think with each show we get better, our proficiency has gotten better,” Roker said in the article.

But any thoughts of Roker leaving Today to focus on producing full-time were squashed. “I love doing the ‘Today’ show. Unless there’s something going on at NBC I don’t know about, I never want to leave there,” he said.
