Al Jazeera International is having trouble getting carriage in Canada, too, the Globe and Mail reports.

They've hired a few Canadians, including Kimberly Halkett, a former White House correspondent for Global Television. She's already going out on assignments for the channel, even though no one knows when it will launch.

In the story, Halkett jabs at U.S. cable news, saying: "If people want the latest on Paris Hilton, they know where to go. We're going to do something different..."
