And Now, The Democrats

Two weeks ago, the Republicans faced off, tomorrow the Democrats who want to be president will debate on an expanded edition of This Week with George Stephanopoulos. It’s the first democratic debate on a broadcast network and, for ABC, it comes at a time when This Week’s ratings appear to be on the rise.

ABC says “for the third quarter This Week was the only Sunday morning discussion program up in Household Rating (6%) vs. the third quarter last year, while Face the Nation declined 20% and Meet the Press declined 12%.”

The Stephanopoulos-moderated GOP debate on Aug. 5 was hardly a ratings blockbuster. 2.186 million viewers watched ABC while 2.946 million watched Meet the Press.
