Barbara Walters Returns to ‘The View’

Earlier today ABC’s “The View” kicked off its 14th season, with host Barbara Walters returning to the program full-time after undergoing heart surgery. Walters made a special appearance on the program in July when President Obama was the guest.

Walters mostly declined to talk about her surgery, saying she would discuss it further tomorrow, but she did show off her scar, as the Huffington Post shows.

“It is very serious surgery,” Walters said. “But the reason I want to talk about it, and I will talk about it more tomorrow, is that it is the number one killer of women. We think it’s breast cancer, right? [Heart problems] are the number one killer of men but also of women, and most women do not have a cardiogram even when you’re younger.”
