Bill Simmons to Call NBA Game on Friday

You already know Bill Simmons‘ name and voice. You’re about to get a lot more familiar with his face.

The Sports Guy, who is in the midst of a short tour supporting the paperback release of his The Book of Basketball, will make his debut as an NBA analyst during Friday’s Miami Heat-Golden States Warriors game. He’ll join Dan Shulman and Mark Jackson on the ESPN telecast.

Simmons is rapidly following Rick Reilly, Michael Wilbon, the Around the Horn crew, and the rest of the journalists who jumped to the silver screen. He’s shown up on a few episodes of PTI this year and previously guested during a PBA event and a college basketball game or two with his friend Rob Stone.

We wish him the best of luck and will listening to the Awful Announcing crew skewer his performance.
