Former FNCer David Rhodes Joins Bloomberg

Rhodes_11.25.jpgAs TVNewser first reported last week, David Rhodes has left Fox News Channel for Bloomberg TV. In making the announcement today, Andy Lack, CEO of Multimedia at Bloomberg said Rhodes, "is one of the most dynamic young minds in television news today. David's news judgment, his strength as a creator and organizer, and his ability to energize a television news operation will be strong assets to Bloomberg Television."

Rhodes will be head of U.S. TV for the financial services and media giant. The press release (after the jump) points to the appointment of Rhodes as capping "a reorganization designed by Andy Lack to maximize the strengths of the global 24/7 Bloomberg TV network."

DAVID RHODES JOINS BLOOMBERG AS HEAD OF U.S. TV

New York, November 25 - David Rhodes, formerly Vice President of News at FOX News, has joined the BLOOMBERG TELEVISION® network as head of the Americas region. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Rhodes was responsible for all day-to-day news coverage at FOX, and had been with the Channel since it launched in 1996.

"David Rhodes is one of the most dynamic young minds in television news today," said Andy Lack, CEO of Multimedia at Bloomberg. "David's news judgment, his strength as a creator and organizer, and his ability to energize a television news operation will be strong assets to BLOOMBERG TELEVISION as we build on the unique global infrastructure that Bloomberg has created."

The appointment of Rhodes caps a reorganization designed by Andy Lack to maximize the strengths of the global 24/7 BLOOMBERG TELEVISION network. In the new structure, BLOOMBERG TELEVISION regional managers will report directly to Multimedia CEO Lack. These include Michael Clancy, head of BLOOMBERG TELEVISION in Asia; Brian Martinez, head of BLOOMBERG TELEVISION in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Rhodes as head of BLOOMBERG TELEVISION in the Americas.

"We are empowering local BLOOMBERG TELEVISION management, making room for innovative programming and delivering more relevant and insightful content to Bloomberg viewers, the highest net-worth audience in the world," Lack said.

Rhodes said, "Bloomberg is a forward-thinking company and the BLOOMBERG TELEVISION network is equipped with the most far-reaching bureau system and most in-depth research and analytic tools in the business. I look forward to working with the Bloomberg team and with Andy Lack, who is a visionary in television news."
