CBS News “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer was diagnosed with bladder cancer seven years ago. Last night, Schieffer discussed his experience fighting the disease on the “CBS Evening News.”

“It is about what we can do to defeat this disease,” Schieffer told CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook. “That is what its about.”

On CNN last night, another regular figure on the enws channels discussed his cancer treatment. Author and journalist Christopher Hitchens talked about his diagnosis of esophageal cancer with Anderson Cooper:
