Brian Williams is taking a little break from all that oil spill news. Today the “NBC Nightly News” anchor will play the role of DJ on Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Radio channel on SIRIUS XM.
The New Jersey native will share personal stories about growing up as a “shore kid,” (exit 114) and talk about what it was like seeing Bruce perform in the early days at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony.
“It was a very personal and intense experience to host this show, and I think that comes through on the air,” said Williams.
The special guest DJ session airs today at 4pmET and will be rebroadcast at MidnightET and tomorrow morning at 8amET on SIRIUS channel 10 and XM channel 58.
In the YouTube clip below, Williams talks about losing his brother, a music lover, who died before the advent of portable music devices.
