Bridge Collapse: Morning Show Notes

KC_8.2.jpgCBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric was back reporting in the morning, joining The Early Show’s coverage live from the scene of the bridge collapse. Couric had “just arrived” in time to begin reporting in the 7:30ET half hour.

NBC’s Matt Lauer led off the Today show coverage live from the scene: “we will ask how could this have happened? When it was rated in 2005, it was rated structurally deficient. Why wasn’t it repaired?”

On ABC, GMA news anchor Chris Cuomo lead off the coverage from Minneapolis, with correspondent Dan Harris.

>More: The Today show called up NBC’s special correspondent Robert Hager (retired and living in Vermont) to do a story on the history of bridge collapses.
