Bridge Collapse: Network Plans

Williams_8.2.jpgBrian Williams finished the Nightly News broadcast last night, and then rushed uptown to attend a memorial service for one of NBC’s former senior producers. Williams delivered a eulogy for Eric Wishnie who died Monday morning. What colleagues at the service were also learning, was that a bridge had just collapsed in Minneapolis. Williams was back at 30 Rock in time to anchor a network special at 10pm ET. He then got on a plane bound for the twin cities. He reported this morning on Today, and will continue his reports on MSNBC, and anchor Nightly News from the scene.

As mentioned earlier, Katie Couric, arrived in Minneapolis in time to report for The Early Show. She’ll anchor her broadcast tonight from the scene. Charlie Gibson is en route to Minneapolis, after updating the west coast versions of World News last night.
