Brokaw Talks MTP , “Controlled Substances” on Conan
NBC News’ Tom Brokaw talked about the history of the presidential election with Conan O’Brien last night, as well as gave some insight into his role as interim moderator of Meet the Press.
“My great dear friend Tim worked very hard on it and he really established it as the gold standard for Sunday mornings,” he said. “So when we lost him, we knew there would have to be an interim time. I was happy to be able to step in and do it. I’ve enjoyed it a lot.”
He talked about how involved he is each week. “I’m on the phone. We have a great staff, but I’m on the phone working as Tim did,” said Brokaw.
As for the historic election, Brokaw said: “I don’t remember this level of excitement for a new president since 1960 when Jack Kennedy was elected President of the United States.”
