C.C. Sabathia lost 25 pound because “I stopped eating Cap’n Crunch every day. … I used to eat that stuff by the box.” It’s a nice anecdote from the Yankees’ star who has long struggled with his weight, although as Darren Rovell points out, Sabathia “Could have made $ if he said what he WAS eating!”)
It’s also a statement disputed by some, most notably the Yankees’ brass. Last week, Brian Cashman said he didn’t believe it was true, telling ESPN.com “I saw him (last week) at the B.A.T. dinner and he didn’t look like he lost 30 pounds to me. Maybe half that amount.”
The bigger (ha!) story here is that Sabathia might opt out, but cereal and alcohol is so much more fun, you know?
