Fox News Channel was the number two ad-supported cable network in primetime the week of March 26-April 1, placing only behind leader USA. FNC drew 1.89 million total viewers in prime, placing it just ahead of third place TBS. In total day FNC placed fifth with 1.07 million viewers. FNC was boosted by “The O’Reilly factor,” which managed to have four telecasts in the cable top 50, an extremely unusual occurrence.
MSNBC placed 26th overall primetime with 750,000 viewers, and 29th in total day with 432,000. CNN placed 31st in primetime and 32nd in total day with 581,000 and 388,000 viewers, respectively.
Current TV placed 89th in primetime and 93rd in total day for the week–Keith Olbermann‘s last at the network–drawing 54,000 and 30,000 viewers, respectively.
As for the business nets: CNBC placed 56th in primetime with 183,000 viewers, and 57th in total day with 133,000. FBN placed 88th in primetime and 81st in total day with 67,000 and 64,000 viewers, respectively. Bloomberg TV, of course, has been unrated by Nielsen since launching in 1994.
