When you think of college basketball juggernauts, Caltech would be at the bottom of the list.

The Division III program is notoriously bad – - the Beavers lost a record 207 straight NCAA games until defeating Bard College of New York in 2007.

The one streak that was still intact was 310 consecutive conference losses … until last night.

Caltech defeated Occidental 46-45 for their first conference win since Jan. 23, 1985.

To put that streak in perspective, none of the 15 players on the Caltech roster were alive the last time the Beavers won a conference game.

Now that’s the “Revenge of the Nerds.”
