Tebow and Brees to Appear on 'The Biggest Loser'

Tim Tebow might be the fourth-best quarterback on the Broncos, but he’s the only Denver signal-caller slated to appear on The Biggest Loser this season. Tebow will appear on the Oct. 4 episode of the popular weight-loss show, along with Drew Brees of the Saints and NFL Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, among other NFL players. According to EW, some of the athletes will compete against contestants in a throwing contest, which should be interesting if Tebow is asked to hit anything outside the numbers. Some of the athletes will share their personal stories of overcoming adversity, and some of them will also help contestants with their “Last Chance Workout” before the final weigh-in.

“It’s not just some great athlete coming out and saying ‘Hey, look at me!’” says Biggest Loser exec producer Todd Lubin. “We actually get to their stories – and these NFL guys have unbelievable stories. Drew had a major debilitating injury, came back and won a Super Bowl, so his message was, ‘Whatever the adversity is, you’ve got to fight through it.’” Lubin also quips: “It’s a good chance to get the men to watch Biggest Loser alongside their wives.”

Skip Bayless Apologizes To Chris Broussard

Skip Bayless apologized Tuesday on ESPN’s First Take for accusing Chris Broussard of selling his “journalistic soul” to get close to LeBron James:

“In the heat of that debate, Chris said a couple things about me that I found offensive. I thought Chris questioned my integrity. And yesterday, in the heat of the debate, I questioned Chris’s integrity. I deeply regret that. I went too far. We spoke for about an hour last night, and I told him I was sorry for doing that. I have the utmost regard for Chris Broussard as a reporter. No finer reporter do I know … I have high regard for Chris as a human being. If nothing else, I hope this deepens or friendship.”

Anyone else think Skip got a call from management and was told to apologize?

Vikings-Packers Third Best SNF Ever

Last night’s Sunday Night Football game between Minnesota and Green Bay was the third-best SNF overnight ever, earning a 16.0 rating and a 25 share.

Ratings were up 54 percent compared to last year’s Week 7 SNF game (Arizona-NY Giants, 10.4/16) and 122 percent from 2008 (Seattle-Tampa Bay, 7.2/11).

SNF is expected to be the most-watched Sunday night show for the seventh consecutive week when viewership is available tomorrow from Nielsen.

Locally, over half the television markets in Milwaukee and Minneapolis were tuned in as the game did a 53.1/68 and 51.5/68 respectively.

Pay close attention next week’s numbers as Week 8 of SNF between Pittsburgh and New Orleans goes against Game 4 of the World Series on Fox.

Good luck, Major League Baseball.
