Ford Funeral: CBS's Coverage Plans
Katie Couric will anchor "Gerald Ford: Death of a President" coverage beginning tomorow. Live coverage begins around 3:20pm Friday as the family and coffin arrives at the church for the private funeral service in Palm Desert, California.
It continues around 5:20pm Saturday when Ford's body moves to the Capitol to begin a period of lying in state.
Coverage of Tuesday's funeral service "will begin following The Early Show."
Couric will anchor the CBS Evening News from D.C. on Saturday and Tuesday. Bob Schieffer and Douglas Brinkley will contribute to the coverage.
