Charles Barkley Offers a Curious Defense of Brett Favre

Brett Favre found a hero: Charles Barkley.

The outspoken TNT analyst thinks the media should leave the much-maligned Minnesota Vikings quarterback alone.

“This is just the media trying to make it a story because they’ve got juicy, gory details basically. But its not a story,” he told the USA Today.

Except it is a story. The NFL ensured it would become one when it decided to investigate the matter even though Jenn Sterger – the alleged victim – clearly just wants the matter to go away.

Back to Sir Charles:

“Listen, if Brett Favre sent that women pictures, it ain’t up to me to decide whether that’s right or wrong. But it’s not a news story. He didn’t break any laws. That’s between him, the girl and his wife. He’s got to answer that. It would be totally different if she wanted to file sexual harassment charges against him. But she is not saying anything. The media’s trying like hell to make it a story.”

Eh, not so much. Blame the NFL’s officials for this issue truly gaining legs.
