Chicago Dropped From 2016 Contention. Gets Least Amount of Votes
It was almost over before it started. Just before 11:30amET, Chicago’s hopes for getting the Summer Olympics in 2016 came to an end.
ABC News sent Charlie Gibson to Chicago to cover the bid and produced a special report on the news that they’d been eliminated. NBC News, too, produced a special report. And the cablers were on it live, from a “stunned” Daley Plaza in Chicago to correspondents who’d been sent to Copenhagen for the announcement.
