CNN Ad Sales — More Viewers, More Revenue?

cnnlogo_4-28.jpgTV Week’s Jon Lafayette writes about CNN’s ad sales plans, in the context of its growth in political coverage viewership.

“Translating those ratings gains into revenue is the challenge for CNN, with analysts predicting Fox News will bolster sales more than its competitor does this year,” writes Lafayette.

One of the methods for CNN ad sales has been adding specials and features to attract a specific target audience, Lafayette writes.

The piece also gives a preview of some upcoming CNN programming. Besides bringing up Campbell Brown and Fareed Zakaria‘s new shows, the article mentions, “a package called ‘First 100 Days,’ which will analyze the next president’s initial months in the White House. The brand will be used on both daily coverage and special programming through April 2009.”
