CNN Names Gulf Coast Bureau Chief

CNN/U.S. has named John Sears its first Gulf Coast bureau chief in New Orleans.

Sears comes to CNN from WOFL-TV, “where he recently served as vice president of news,” the press release says. He has also worked as a consultant for KDVR in Denver and news director for KPTV in Portland.

Until now, a number of senior editors from across CNN have handled the day-to-day operations of the bureau, while a senior manager handled the business affairs. Sears joins correspondents Susan Rosegen and Sean Callebs…
