Goodbye, CNN Pipeline.

When it launched in December 2005, Jim Walton called it a "commercial-free broadband video news service that promises to revolutionize the way people consume news and information online."

It'll be remembered not only as CNN's "first major effort to move our live video assets online," but also as a transition product between a text-based CNN.com and a video-centric site.

The four-feed service stopped last night. It has been replaced on the CNN.com home page by an "under construction" message.

The content will be back on Monday when CNN.com launches its new web site. All the anchors will still be there, save for Richard Lui, who is moving to HLN.

Today, staffers posed for a photo in front of Pipeline's green screen and said farewell to the service...
