CNN’s “Hype Machine?”
CBS’s Public Eye co-editor, Matthew Felling, says that “CNN has stretched the definition of news to a nearly incomprehensible level” in promoting tonight’s CNN/YouTube debate. Annoyed, he started counting how many times the CNN networks, mentioned the event: “CNN and Headline News have now discussed tonight’s ‘groundbreaking’ and ‘first of its kind’ debate 92 times today.” And that was only as of 4:18 ET…
>Update: Anderson Cooper with Lou Dobbs: “We were up until about 3 O’Clock this morning” looking at potential YouTube questions for the debate… (okay, so I guess I’m buying into the hype).
