Cojo Says He Was “Dumped” & “Left In The Gutter” By The Today Show

> Update: 10:30am: “We were surprised that Oprah presented such a one-sided version of Steven Cojocaru’s story, without even bothering to hear the facts from the Today show,” an NBC spokesperson says. “That said, all of us at ‘Today’ wish him the best in his recovery.”

“Steven Cojocaru says he wasn’t just fired from the ‘Today’ show. He says he was ‘dumped,’ ‘shot at the crack of dawn’ and ‘left in the gutter,’” the AP reports. Cojo appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday. Cojocaru said he was fired from Today three weeks after his kidney transplant, because he made plans to appear on Oprah. Winfrey acted shocked.

Today staffers were pissed at Cojo’s “flat out lies,” an insider says. Apparently the story Cojo told his former friends and NBC management differed greatly from what he told Oprah…
