Conan O’Brien to Take his show to TBS

The newsroom here at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas is buzzing with the news that Conan O’Brien is leaving broadcast, and will turn up next on cable TV.

The New York Times, TVGuide, Variety and just about everyone on Twitter, are reporting that O’Brien will join the late-night lineup on TBS this fall. The show will air at 11pmET, pushing George Lopez to Midnight.

This may be a relief for some FOX affiliates. Reports had surfaced last month that O’Brien was talking to the News Corp. network about taking his show to 11pmET/10pmCT, which would have meant FOX affils would have had to bump lucrative news or syndicated programming.
