BCBeat's John Eggerton says the "orgy of tribute was ridiculously over the top." He writes: "Couric’s farewell was excessive -- even understanding the commercial reasons it was done. There is a war going on (Ann Curry gave it 30 seconds or so every half hour.) A nice half hour at 8:30, and more at 9:45 in that bastard hour on Today would have given ample opportunity to venerate her."
